About

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” ~ Carl Rogers

About Leila -

I am a Bristol / South Gloucestershire based counsellor with a busy private practice in the Almondsbury (BS32) area. I also provide online sessions nationally using Zoom. I work in an integrative way, which means that I work in a bespoke, holistic manner, using the modalities and theories that fit with your needs. These theories may include techniques such as CBT, Person-centred therapy, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis.

How Counselling Can Help -

Deciding to come to counselling can often mean that you'd like something in your life to change. To be more fulfilling, less distressing or to live peacefully. I work with an array of different needs, working with adults to provide relief from issues such as anxiety and depression, relational issues, trauma, abuse, grief and loss, burnout and work based stress and social anxiety. I have lived experience and also work with and welcome clients exploring racial identity and LGBTQIA+ topics.

Through building a strong therapeutic relationship, I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore what's going on for you, build self-awareness and understand yourself better. We may make links to the past, looking at how this affects patterns and behaviour today, as it is the here and now that I find beneficial to create real, lasting change.

Training and Experience -

I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling and I am a registered member of the BACP.

I work as a counsellor with Talk to the Rainbow with LGBTQIA+ individuals and with Bristol Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have worked with the NHS, offering counselling to hospital staff.

How to get in contact -

Making the decision to begin therapy is a brave and courageous step. Please reach out by telephone or email and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation to get a sense of what brings you to counselling, give you the opportunity to ask any questions and to see how we work together and if you'd like to go ahead with more sessions.
